Deirdre Nardi

Board Member

Born in Chicago and raised in Oak Park,, Illinois until the age of 4.  Family relocated to Northfield, Illinois where I stayed until college.  I was an active tennis player all through my youth.  I took up golf seriously in my early 20’s and never looked back.  I attended Loyola, University in Chicago and spent my sophomore year at their Rome Center, Italy.  It changed my life.  I still study Italian every week with a my Italian teacher/long time friend Vittoria.  I love spending time in Italy and it is one of my biggest passions along side playing golf.

I worked in the Fashion Industry out of college, and then real estate.  I lived in Hawaii for a few years where I did marketing for a California Builder who was building 3 projects on the island of Oahu.

When I returned back to Chicago I met and eventually married Stephen J. Nardi in my early 30’s and we lived in the Gold Coast of Chicago, had a home in Aspen, Co. where we spent time skiing with long time friends.  Back in Illinois we had a horse farm near Rockford where we spent most Summer and Fall weekends.  We shared a great love and a full life together for 25 years until Stephen passed in 2018.

I began to rebuild my life as a single person with a move out of the city to the North Shore of Chicago where I play golf at Evanston GC  ( I grew up there as a kid) and Kemper Lakes GC.  I am involved with other non for profits and church fundraisers locally in the Chicago area. I then decided to build a home and spend my winter months in Indian Wells CA.,, at Toscana CC.  It is there that I met Kyle Wynn and got involved with First Tee Coachella Valley.  I started coaching as a volunteer and met some board members at various events.  It has opened and enhanced my world tremendously.  I am also on the advisory committee for POSITIVITEE, another non for profit, that aims to help kids in the Coachella Valley through their various sectors.  One of which is it’s alliance with the First Tee and we have since started a new Pilot Program with First Tee called Positivity No Boundaries.  Its mission is to also include kids with disabilities and special needs.

I am privileged to manage a Foundation that my husband Stephen and I set up years ago.  My biggest joy is being able to give back to non for profit organizations that speak to my heart. I am very blessed in this life.
