About DYDCF

The Dr. Yomi Desert Classic (DYDC) began in 2021 as a simple idea: a weekend of golf and fellowship in the Coachella Valley. What started as a casual gathering among friends quickly evolved into something far more impactful — a shared commitment to community, mentorship, and meaningful giving.

From the very first swing, it was clear that DYDC had the potential to be more than just a golf event. The camaraderie, the conversations, and the collective energy sparked a deeper purpose: to invest in the next generation and uplift local organizations doing transformative work. That vision led us to select First Tee – Coachella Valley (FTCV) as our inaugural charitable partner, aligning perfectly with our values of youth development, character building, and access to opportunity through sport.

Since then, DYDC has grown in both scale and spirit. Each year, the event has drawn a diverse group of supporters — professionals, philanthropists, and golf enthusiasts — united by a desire to give back. By the conclusion of DYDC 5, held in June at the iconic Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin, we proudly surpassed $575,000 in donations to FTCV. That milestone reflects not just generosity, but a movement fueled by purpose and partnership.

In 2024, the Dr. Yomi Desert Classic Foundation (DYDCF) was formally established to expand our reach and deepen our impact. While FTCV remains a cornerstone of our mission, DYDCF now supports additional organizations whose work aligns with our core values — from youth empowerment and education to health equity and community resilience.

As we look ahead, DYDCF is committed to building a legacy of service, connection, and excellence — both on and off the course. Whether you’re a golfer, a donor, or a community advocate, we invite you to be part of this journey. Because when passion meets purpose, the results are truly extraordinary.
